Commitment – or how to get screwed by your employer
by slipshft on Oct.25, 2011, under Uncategorized
When I was outsourced to another company, I was hesitent about the change. Having been around for a while, I have seen many of these go south, to be more specific many people lose their jobs. So, when my management tried to tell me that this was a good change I was skepticle.
Well now the other shoe is starting to drop. Let me explain. I was moved up to management, but only in an acting capacity being told that being in acting status was only temporary, I would be made a full manager down the line. After over a year of being an acting manager, now I am being moved backwards, and a person who was my subboardinate is being moved up to being manager. Needless to say I am a bit upset by this move. So it may be that it is time for me to move on.
Having spent the time to ensure that the work was completed, many times ahead of schedule, putting numberous hours of my own time, and many hours of overtime, I feel like I have been dismissed in an unreasonable way. I understand that many people have lost their jobs, and times are tough, so the job market is not what it should be for me to move on. I do feel for all those who have lost their positions, their livelyhood, and their security to bad decisions by others.
Hawaii

Week before last I had to go to Hawaii for work. Yes I know, tough gig. I didn’t see much since I worked 90% if the time, but had a great view from the hotel. As a side note, the day I got there they had the Hawaii five-0 party on the beach.
Since I didn’t get to do the tourist thing, I can’t say if I would recommend it as a destination.
